     Bluebird Day home is run by Hanifah. As the eldest of nine children, Hanifah is no stranger to taking care of children. She understands how challenging, yet rewarding the process can be. Before she even knew what it was, Hanifah always followed the phrase, “learning through play”. It is the same philosophy she used, to raise her three children who are all pursuing post-secondary education in university.

 

     Hanifah, with the support of her family, converted her home into Bluebird Dayhome. Her entire developed basement was renovated into a play centre from a child’s dream. With the addition of her large fenced backyard, the children in her care have lots of room to be active and happy. In return, there’s no day that Hanifah doesn’t love her job, and she knows how lucky she is to be able to say that.

 

     Hanifah is fully qualified as a child care provider with her first aid and CPR certifications. She and all members of her family have also had a criminal background check and a police check performed with no problems. Hanifah has always passed any unannounced monthly visit from the childcare consultants.

 

     As someone who likes to go beyond the minimum requirements, Hanifah is always looking for ways to improve at her chosen profession. She regularly attends workshops, seminars and training sessions in Calgary to enhance her skills and remain aware of new child care policies. It is due to her determination and passion that she was able to receive her Diploma in Childhood Education. It isn’t easy to always go above and beyond, but Hanifah sure makes it looks so with a positive attitude. She jokes that spending her day with toddlers and babies makes her look like she’s in her twenties. Hanifah is fully committed to providing families in Calgary with the best quality child care services.
